Alfred Taylor

Alfred Taylor Jr., “Hippy”, age 70, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare due to an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Taylor Sr.; mother Sylvia B. Jones; and sister Ruby Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was of the Baptist faith, and was retired from Lear Seating after 35 years of service.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diana L. Reams Taylor; daughter Lisa Taylor Mauk and husband Terry; granddaughters Sarah and Ashley Mauk, all of Rogersville; daughter Alicia Taylor of Durham, NC; sister Margaret Barnes of Whitesburg; brother Lowell Taylor of Rogersville; aunt Lois Bernard of Whitesburg; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff in the CCU unit at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare, and to the staff of Davita Dialysis Center, for all their care.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in the east chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 7 pm, with Rev. Doug Benton officiating.  Interment will be 2 pm Wednesday, February 7, in Liberty Community Cemetery in St. Clair.  Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
