Dean Adams

Dean Adams, 58, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord Monday, April 17, 2017 at his home.   He was baptized and was a member of Cadet Primitive Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap, VA.  Dean served in the United States Navy, and was employed by Shoun Allen Masonry.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially at Cherokee Lake.

Dean was preceded in death by his father, Echol L. Adams; brother Lee Adams; and sister Tracie Adams.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Debbie Adams; daughter Kelly (Matt) Helton; sons Chris (Katrina) Adams, and Jonathan Adams of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Ryan Adams, Kendall Shelton and Maverick Adams; mother Pat (Joe) Giza; brother Patrick (Vonda) Adams, Rick Adams, Kevin (Denise) Adams of Richmond, VA;  sister Connie Kilgore; sister-in-law Sharon Dorton; brothers-in-law Dan (Audrey) Dorton, Cecil (Judy) Dorton, and Jerry (Monica) Dorton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, April 18, in the east chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 8 pm, with Rev. Dannie Bell officiating.  Interment will be 1 pm Wednesday in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
