George Franklin Johnson

George Franklin “Buddy” Johnson,78, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, at his home in Talbott.  He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Air Force.  He worked for the federal government as a firefighter and retired from Tennessee Valley Authority as a public safety officer. His years in public service totaled 35.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Johnson; and parents, George P. And Mary Frank Johnson.

Survivors include his daughters, Selena Kaye Higginbotham and Shirl Rae Shineldecker; son, Christopher Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer Harland, Jason Higginbotham, and Jonathon Wills; great grandchildren, Garren Higginbotham; Jayme, Wesley, Jessie & Jonathon Wills Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A military graveside service will be held at 1pm, Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Hamblen Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Reverend Dannie Bell officiating.
