William Dewayne ("Bill") Norton

William (Bill) Norton, 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Morristown on Friday, November 17 after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Whitesburg, TN.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Bernice Norton; grandparents, Joe and Pearlie Marlow Norton and John L. and Julia Parks Baird; and brother-in-law Doug Vaughn.  

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara Wright Norton; three children, Brittany Norton Lindsay and her husband Gary, Brooke Norton and Joshua Norton; four grandchildren, Britain Lindsay, Gary Lindsay III, Noah Lindsay and Bristol Lindsay who was born the day before he passed away; his sister Jane Norton Vaughn; special nephew, Scott Vaughn, brother-in-law John S. Wright Jr.; as well as several cousins and nephews.

The family would like to express gratitude to the Morristown office of Tennessee Cancer Specialists, Amedisys and the Amedisys Hospice team for their excellent care of Bill throughout his illness.  The excellent staff members became almost like family in Bill's final days.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 in the West Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:00 with Reverend Terry Bunch officiating.  Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in Bethesda Cemetery.
