Barbara Jean Chadwick

Barbara Jean Thompson “Nana” Chadwick, 68, was reunited with loved ones and her Heavenly Father after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.   She was a patient at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Tazewell, Tn. to Bertha and James Thompson. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam Chadwick; sister, Elsie Vaughn; and granddaughter, Emma Spoon.   She served as a correctional officer at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary and retired after 27 years of service.

Survivors include her children, Kristy Hazelwood and Jerry (Libby) Spoon; grandchildren, Lucas Hazelwood; Isaiah Spoon and Katie Spoon; brothers, Robert Lynn (Laura) Thompson; Kenneth Ray (Theresa) Thompson; sister, Carolyn (David) Vaughn; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 pm Monday, January 21, 2019 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to a memorial service at 6:00 p.m.
