Cody S. Adkins, 29, of Rogersville, TN passed away on December 31, 2018. Cody was a loving and faithful husband to wife Katie, father to Michael Kurtis and future baby Adkins.
Cody had an exuberant personality and made a huge impact on all who had the honor of knowing him. He never met a stranger, loving to laugh and make others laugh as well. He was proud to be an Army Veteran, an avid Vols fan, and the “best d*** FedEx courier in Greene County”. Cody had such a passion and a thirst for life and the adventures that it offered. Cody was a strong advocate for animals and had created a fund for an animal rescue he and his wife were wanting to develop. Cody enjoyed outdoor activities which included the time he spent in nature with his 4 furry children along with his father and brother.
Cody, also known to his family as “Baby Boy”, is survived by his wife Katie Hurd-Adkins; children Michael Kurtis Adkins and soon-to-be baby Adkins. His parents Ted (“Momma” Lisa) Adkins, Darla (Randy) Greer, and Debbie Hill. His siblings Corey (Heather) Adkins, Kourtni (Randy) Combs, Kasi Adkins and his brother in arms Zach Cornish. His Grandparents Robert and Peggy Adkins, Darrell and Kay Dugger, and Carson and Mary Carpenter. His niece Rylee Adkins and future niece/nephew Combs. His special cousin Colleen Dugger and a host of other cousins, aunts, uncles and friends whom he dearly loved.
Cody’s Celebration of Life will be held at Allen Funeral Home in Morristown on Sunday January 6th. The receiving of family and friends will begin at 1pm and go until 3:30pm. The Celebration of Life service will start at 3:30 followed by the military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that any donations be made to the Baby Adkins Fund as the expected arrival of Cody and his wife’s child will be in the fall.
