Joan Maxine (Deering) Lawson

Joan Deering Lawson, 62, of Morristown, passed away at her home Friday, September 21, 2018.  She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, and was employed at Shelby Williams.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. and Navada Deering; brothers Steve “Cotton” Deering and Larry Dale Deering; and niece Nikki Garber.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Gerald Lawson; daughter Christy (Jeff) Brooks; sons Shawn (Haley) Lawson, Quinton Price, and Scott (Jessica) Goodman; sister Donna Martin; niece Gina Kelley; as well as several grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Monday, September 24, in the east chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 7 pm, with Dr. Howard Shipley officiating. Interment will be 2 pm Tuesday in Emma Jarnagin Cemetery.  Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
