Lillian Jane (Bishop Smith) Skelton

Lillian Jane Bishop Smith Skelton, 82, was born July 19, 1935 in Talbott, TN and passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville.   She loved spending time with family and was always the life of the party.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a friend to many.  She retired as a deputy clerk from the Clerk & Masters’ Office of the Hamblen County Courthouse.  She was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church in Morristown, TN.  She will be greatly missed.  She was preceded in death by her late husband, Raymond Skelton and her late husband, Fred E. Smith; her parents, Lewis Hurd Bishop and Bertha Mae Hurst Bishop; sisters, Pauline (Hugh) Cornwell, Juanita (Clay) Wester; brothers, Fred (Henry Mae) Bishop and Junior (Louise) Bishop.

She is survived by her children, Freda Sue Smith McNabb (Gary), Richard Dale Smith (Tammy); step-children, Steve Skelton and Pam Ruffner (late husband Marshall); grandchildren, Julie McNabb D’bras (Don), Jessica McNabb Watkins (John), Ryan Richard Smith (Cristina), Jayna Kristen Smith, Bryan Skelton and Stephanie Renee Skelton; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Bishop McCoig; brothers, Lee Bishop (Kathleen) and Ray Bishop (Roberta), along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to funeral services at 6:00 with Dr. Keith Mowery officiating.  Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
