Madge Lane Susong

Madge Lane Susong passed away on May 26, 2018.  She was born March 17, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack O. Susong, the love of her life. Also preceding her in death were parents, William Glen and Stella Baker Lane; siblings, Alta Lane Lare, Vergie Lane Stewart and Glen “Joe” Lane. 

She is survived by her siblings, Betsy Lane, Roy Lane, Doyle Lane, John Lane and Aileen Standifer-Craft. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially, Julie Lane (Paul) McGarry, Susie Lane Kahl (Steven) Aft, Jack McGarry, Susan McGarry, and Lucia Rose Aft. 

Madge and Betsy shared more than a sibling relationship; it was sisters, mother, mentor and best friends. Their love for each other endured many journeys, good and bad. However, their devotion to each other was steadfast and will be never-ending. 

Madge was an athlete, educator, mentor, leader, advocate for children, and those less fortunate. She was an incredibly strong woman, who impacted and touched many lives, both personally and professionally. 

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral.  A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM with Dr. Howard Shipley officiating.  Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patient Assistance Fund c/o Morristown Hamblen Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
