Nina Ruth Taber

Nina Ruth Taber, age 94, is no longer homesick, as she left her earthly home for her heavenly home, Monday, December 17, 2018.  She was a sweet and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all.

Nina was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church which she attended faithfully until her health kept her home. 

Nina was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy (G.L.) Taber; brother and sister-in-law, MJ and Edna Burns; infant grandson Patrick Joseph Taber; parents, grandparents, aunts, uncle and cousins.

Survivors include daughters Martha Lane and Alice (Lynn) Brooks of Morristown; sons, Mike (Sheryl) Taber of Spring, TX, John (Sara) Taber of Bryson City, NC, and Jim (Serena) Taber of Talbott.  Grandchildren are Jennifer (Gabe) Hutchings and Keith (Meghan) Brooks of Morristown, Libby Taber of Spring, TX, Mallory Taber of Dickinson, TX and Amanda Stiver of San Antonio, TX; David Taber of Parrottsville, TN, and Andrew Taber USAF of Germany.  Nina’s great-grandchildren are Jordan and Trey Robinson of Spring, TX, Gingie and Mallie Brooks of Morristown and Kyleigh, Charlie Rose and Gracie Taber of Parrottsville, TN.  She is also survived by a niece, Marion Keith of Morristown, who was like another daughter to her. 

The family would like to thank UT Hospice, Nurse Sara, Cleo Harris, Sue Clowers and current caregivers, Sheila Wisecarver and Brenda Hylton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:00p.m.  with Reverends  Mike Cutshaw of Trinity UMC and John Taber of Mountain View Church of Christ officiating.  Graveside services are planned for 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2018 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity UMC Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
