Roger Lee Coffey, age 82, of Bean Station, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 6th, 2020.
Roger Was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lee and Bonnie Coffey; brother, Foister Coffey; and a very special daughter in Law, Gail Coffey.
Roger leaves behind, his wife of 22 years, Lucille Coffey; son, Roger Lee Coffey Jr.; Lucille’s children who adored him, James Campbell and Jill (Matthew) Taylor; grandchildren, Simba Coffey and her fiancé Mark Dalton, Clarissa Cameron, Evelyn Taylor Jordan, and Mason Campbell; brothers, Howard Coffey and General “G.D.” Coffey; sisters, Bealy Doris Wolf and Lois Greene.
Roger served our great country in the United States Navy. He was an ambitious man wo served Grainger County as Circuit Court Clerk. Roger brought fireworks stores to Grainger County and also built over 100 homes. The kid from “Over Home” was an ambitious man. He manufactured furniture for many years and created many jobs throughout his life. He owned and operated a steakhouse and a skating rink. At present, he owned Car Sales and Service, but his true passion was working the farm and raising cattle. Roger’s memory will be cherished by his loved ones. “Roger, your work is done rest easy in the angel’s presence.”
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2020 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 11 AM, January 10, 2020 in Hamblen Memory Gardens, with Frank Allen officiating.
