Roswell Lee (R. L.) Harville (86) of Talbott went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 19. R. L. was a Koren War Veteran. Upon returning home from serving his country he started his career with Bell South. He retired after a 40year career as a lineman and cable splicer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Bridgers United Methodist. R. L. loved the water and water skiing. He loved sharing his passion for skiing by teaching many people to water ski. He also loved the ocean and had a special fondness for the beaches of Hawaii. After retiring R.L. spent time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
R.L. is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Myrtle Harville; wife, Esther Ann (Moore) Harville; son, Richard Lee; brothers, Homer, Floyd and sisters Catherine Baxley, Eva Moore, Mayme Bradley, and second wife, Marinita (Foster) Harville. He is survived by his children, Regina Maddron, René Skelton and Rusty Harville; grandchildren, Shawn and Margarthe Ruefer, Jessica, Megan, Hannah and Ty Harville, Lauren Schulz and Kovlyn Harville; several great-grandchildren, as well as brother Herbert Harville and sister Edith Gilbert.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 22 at 3:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church. The funeral will follow at 4:00 pm, with the interment of ashes immediately following the funeral service in the church's Garden of Life. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Habitat for Humanity.
