Vona Lee Shumate

Vona “Bonnie” Lee Shumate, 73, of Morristown, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 30, 2019 after a lengthy illness.  She attended Compassion Church.  She spent her life serving others. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her brother Randy Deboy; parents, Lucille and Earl Deboy; step-father, Carl Lectner; son, Darrin Shumate; brothers, Roger Dale Deboy and sister, Sandy Smith.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years; Ronald Shumate; sons, Cenneth (Kelly) Shumate; Shawn (Roxanne) Shumate; Jamie (Jackie) Shumate; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Rodney Earl, Brian (Anna), Bruce (Jean) Deboy; sister, Kimberly Diane Deboy as well as several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Saturday, February 2, 2019   in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:00 with Travis Mills officiating.  Graveside services and interment will take place Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in Islely Cemetery in Lafayette, In.
