Alfred Dean Fields passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his home, with several family members. He was born to Carl Banner Fields and Gladys Lena Sykes on March 12, 1936, in Russell County, Virginia.
He is proceeded in death by his wife Elaine Greta Fields; sisters Hazel Kendrick and Anna Mae Fields; grandson Stevie Gilland; son-in law Steve Gilland.
He is survived by his five children, Mark Fields (Janice), Sandy Bennett, Linda Gilland, Stephanie Carter and Scot Carter and Kenny Fields; sister-in-law Debbie Stewart; brothers Johnny Hess and Roger Hess; eleven Grandkids; eight great grandkids; one great great granddaughter; Special friend Marlena Queen; Special caregivers Kayley Neely; Special nurse and friend Mary Hensley.
Alfred retired after serving 20 years from the Air Force. He also worked at General Electric for many years, along with Carson Newman College.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in the East chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
