Alice Faye McGarity Milner, of Morristown, TN, formerly of Dawson, GA, passed away at age 86, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Regency Retirement Village of Morristown.
Faye was born in Dawson, GA to the late J.P. McGarity and Mary Mackey McGarity on January 9, 1939. She graduated from Terrell County High School in Dawson, GA in 1957. On June 23, 1957, she was married to Marcus Milner of Dawson, GA. They celebrated 67 years of Holy Matrimony on June 23, 2024. Faye and Marcus are members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. Faye has faithfully served the Lord as a Sunday school teacher, as well as other duties serving the Lord as long as she was physically able. She and Marcus also sang gospel songs together at churches and friends’ gatherings, with Marcus playing his guitar. In 1958, on their first anniversary, they were heading to Hawaii, where Marcus worked at Pearl Harbor on ship-board electronics. Faye’s major job was raising their children, Debbie, Marcia, and Marc. After the children were old enough, Faye was employed as a pharmacy tech. Since Marcus retired in 1988, they have enjoyed 37 years of retirement together. After declining health, their daughter, Debbie, and son-in-law, Greg Adams, took her and Marcus in to take care of them. Then they moved to Regency Retirement Village in Morristown, TN.
Faye is survived by her husband, Marcus; daughters, Debbie (Greg) Adams, Marcia (Al) Griffin, and Kim Tran; son, Marc Milner; four grandsons, Benjamin Adams, Brian Adams, Allen Griffin, and Samuel (Annette) Griffin; and great grandchildren, Hayley Adams, Rowan, Wells, and Rhodes Griffin, and Declan Adams.
