Anna “Grammy” Elizabeth Trent, 83, of Bulls Gap, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System, surrounded by family, after a brief illness. Anna was a longtime member of Bulls Gap Baptist Church, where she served as pianist for many years. She worked for the Hawkins County School System for a number of years and was also a talented seamstress. She loved spending time with her family and was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Kilby and brothers, Kenneth Kilby and J.B. Kilby.
Anna is survived by her husband of 63 years, G.W. Trent; children, Janet (Brian) Farmer and Joe (Bridgette) Trent; grandchildren, Haley (Troy) Elliott, Alex (Dylan) Coffey, Taylor (Dillon) Parker, and Zach Trent; great grandchildren, Norah Elliott, Carden Coffey, and Sofia and Brooks Parker; as well as many other extended family members.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System – Critical Care Unit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Gideons International.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Bulls Gap Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Interment will be held at 11 AM, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Edgewood Cemetery of Knoxville.
