Barbara Jean (Rucker) Treece

Barbara Jean Rucker Treece, age 84, of Morristown TN. went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2024.

She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. A very special loving mother and grandmother. She was an LPN and a graduate of the black nursing class in Morristown. She also attended Morristown College. Barbara retired from Morristown Hamblen Hospital, after 40 years of nursing service.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ike and Ethel Rucker; her husband, Carl (Duck) Treece; brother, Charles William Buis; Uncles, Charles Rucker, Roy Rucker Sr, Robert Earl Rucker.

Barbara is survived by her mother, Helen Buis; daughter, Susan D Rucker; sons, Robert (Tonya) Rucker, Michael Nicely. Sisters, Naomi(William)Mason, Betty Simonton, Donna( John) Womack, Darlene Sherles; brother, Ralph( Jane) Buis; Uncle Curtis Lee(Dorothy)Rucker; aunt Linnie Jackson; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private family viewing January 24. Memorial service at a later date.
