Bernice Marie Bewley, age 99, passed away peacefully at her home in Morristown on August 25, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1925, in Hawkins County, Tennessee.
Bernice will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, honor, and loving nature. A devoted homemaker and caretaker all of her life, she found joy in life’s simple blessings—gardening, working in her yard, cooking, and especially caring for her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E. K. and Zolena Glasscock McMahan; two sisters; and six brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Sue Long and Andrea Jean (Earl) Wilder; granddaughters, Tammy Fisher and Jennifer Johns; grandson, Kenny (Heather) Helms; great-granddaughter, Alisha Buell; great-grandsons, Anthony Buell, Triston (Kylee) Lampkin, Hunter Maxey, Damion Helms, and Kenny Helms, Jr.; great-great grandsons, Cody (Caitlin) Buell and Zachary Atkins; and great-great-great grandchildren, Ava Lampkin, Gunner Lampkin, Lincoln Lampkin, Paislee Buell, Sawyer Buell, and Atlas Atkins.
Bernice’s devotion to family and her nurturing spirit leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will continue to live on through those she loved.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
