Billy Frank Bentley, born November 30, 1941, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father March 19, 2026, at Park West Hospital in Knoxville. He was a faithful member and deacon of Morningside Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Morristown Rescue Squad, and coached little league softball for years. He was inducted into the Morristown Parks and Recreation Hall of Fame. Billy was well loved by not only his church family, but by everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe Bentley, and mother Margaret Lamb; and his father and mother-in-law Bill and Edna Morris, who loved him like a son.
Billy is survived by his wife of 62 years Virginia “Ginny” Bentley; daughters Pam (Bobby) Turley, and Dawn (Bill) Rogers; his grandchildren Allison (Jaron) McFall, Amanda Turley, Ashli (Austin) Collins, and Lance Rogers; great grandchildren Annabeth McFall, Calloway Collins, and Molly Collins. He loved his family very deeply.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday, March 24, at Morningside Baptist Church, with the funeral service to follow at 7pm, officiated by his pastor Dr. Kenny Boling. Interment will be 2 pm Wednesday, March 25, in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Morningside Baptist.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Park West for their compassion and prayers during this difficult time.
