Obituary

Billy “Bill” Howard Moore, Age 82 of Morristown, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. 

Born on April 22, 1938 in Whitesburg, TN to Homer and Marie Moore. He was baptized at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Whitesburg High School.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He was a 56-year member of the Kyle Lodge #422 in Whitesburg, owner-operator of Moore’s Tractor Trailer, Inc. for 31 years, and an avid local dirt track race car driver in the 70s.  Bill enjoyed his family above all else.  He also enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle, and researching family history. There are many stories out there that will create laughter and fabulous memories.  Everyone has a “Bill” story!  He touched many lives and will be sadly missed.  

Preceded in death by his parents Homer and Marie Moore, brother Curtis Moore, and sister Verda Wells. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Christine (Chris) Moore; daughter, Tammie Moore; son, Scott (Kathryn) Moore; grandchildren, Ashley (Toby) Kirkland, Allison (Christopher) Moody; great-grandchildren, Toby and Luke Kirkland, and Addison and Colton Moody. He is also survived by his canine companion Buddy Moore. 

The body will lie in state from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday, July 31, 2020 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 in Hamblen Memory Gardens with Dr. Kenyn Cureton officiating.
