Billy Rimer Obituary

Billy Wayne Rimer, age 69, of Bean Station, passed away suddenly but peacefully, at his residence on February 3, 2026. He was saved at a young age at Grassy Springs Baptist Church. He was a member of Noeton Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for 29 years and Church Treasurer for 13 years. He was also the Noeton Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Caretaker. Serving the Church and the members was a great passion of Billy’s. He retired from Jersey Miniere Zinc Company after over 30 years of service. Every morning for the past several years, you could find him at his favorite daily hang-out of Ben’s in Bean Station.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Sutton and Kloyis Rimer; sisters, Nina Sizemore, Sherry Mauk, and Barbara Bowen; brother, Michael Rimer; and nephew, Chris Seals.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Barbara Rimer. They have lived a very fulfilling life serving their family, church, and community. Billy was the father of daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Mills, and son, Jeremy Rimer who will truly miss his quick wit and strong desire to always be there in any time of need. He loved to be with everyone and have a good time telling stories of his past. He always had the family laughing. His greatest joy was being a grandfather to his grandchildren, Spencer (Kaitlyn) Mills, Kelsey (Gavin) Call, and Karlee Mills; and the absolute apple of his eye, great-granddaughter, Raelynn Kaye Mills.  Riley Jo Mills, a new great granddaughter will be arriving in May. He enjoyed every second of being able to attend all the baseball and softball games, choir concerts, vacations, and other school or church functions. He was a very PROUD “Papaw”! Billy is also survived by sisters, Patsy Cupp and Judy (Larry) Seals; brother, Dan (Kay) Rimer, John Rimer, and Richard Rimer; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 1 PM, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Noeton Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow, with Elder Jerry Sexton, Rev. Billy Couch, and Rev. Scott Howerton officiating. Interment will follow the funeral services with his final resting place being in Noeton Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, overlooking the church that he served and loved for many years.
