Bobbie Thomas Harville was born on December 30, 1934, and entered eternal life on April 27, 2023. Bobbie graduated from Morristown High School in 1952 and Hiwassee College in 1954. She worked in various jobs in life but was best known as a caregiver and fierce advocate for her disabled daughter, Jan.
Bobbie was a member of Bridger’s United Methodist Church which later merged with Trinity Methodist Church. She was an active member of the women’s group and teacher of her Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Eugene Thomas and Fern Brimer Thomas, husband Herbert H. Harville, and brother Clarence A. Thomas.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Jan of the home, son and daughter-in-law Stan and Teresa Harville, grandchildren Kaitlyn Harville of Oak Ridge, TN and Courtney Harville of Montgomery, AL, special sister-in-law Edith Gilbert, many nieces and nephews and a very special circle of friends.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses involved in her treatments and Smokey Mountain Home Hospice and all the caregivers involved. Special thanks to Jessica and Becky for their assistance and a very special thanks to her close circle of friends who supported her until the end.
The family will receive friends at Allen Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30 from 4 pm until 6 pm with services to follow. Graveside services will be at 11 am in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Monday, May 1. The Reverend Mike Cutshaw officiating.
