Carlos Gene Holwell

Carlos Gene “Pops” Holwell, 77, passed away and went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Whitesburg, TN. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1965 and retired as Master Sargent from the United States Air National Guard after 34 years and 10 months of service. He also retired from Cooper Tool and Die in Springfield, OH after 27 years of service. Carlos was a member of the Bulls Gap VFW Post # 9683 and also served in their Honor Guard. He will be deeply missed by his daughter and those that knew him.

Carlos is preceeded in death by his parents, Milton S. and Esley Holwell.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra (Kenneth) Goodson, Christina Holwell, and Carla (John) Anderson; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; Carey (Mel) Hamilton; Jenness (John) Stienmetz; Casey Holwell; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

His wishes were to be cremated, and will be laid to rest at Black Hills National Cemetery, 20901 Pleasant Valley Dr, Sturgis, SD 57785, on a later date.
