Carolyn Sue James, 77, of Morristown, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Carolyn was born in Vinita, OK and was proud to be a member of the Cherokee Nation. In 1989, she relocated to the Morristown area where she was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Mohawk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Art James; father, Floyd Ironside; mother, Mary Jane Wilson; stepmother, Annabelle Ironside; brother, Richard Ironside and sister, Shelia Ironside.
She is survived by her sons; Billy (Donna) James and Richard James; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Quackenbush; sister-in-law, Dee Ironside as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, September 10, 2021, in the West Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:00 with Reverend Dannie Bell officiating.
Carolyn’s family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the nurses at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Your compassion and care for our mother will not soon be forgotten.
It was Carolyn’s request to return to Oklahoma to be laid to rest beside husband, Art. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with transportation costs.
