Charles D. Wright, 94, went to be with the Lord at his home in Russellville. He was a member of Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. He also worked for the Hamblen County Sherriff’s Department for over 20 years. He owned and operated a Long-Haul Trucking Service and logged over three million miles.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Wright; parents, Fred and Alberta Wright; brothers, Gary, James, and Howard Wright; and daughter, Kathy Ann Marler.
Charles is survived by his sons, Charles D. Wright II and Tom (Julie) Wright; grandchildren, Michael Fawbush, Rebecca Carpenter, Travis Wright, and Tracie Wright Gurley; great grandchildren, Bella, Beau, Lauren, Morgan, Deanna and Kailey; sisters, Frances Jennings and Betty Wright; sister-in-law, Jan Spears Wright as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are planned for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday May 5,2021 in Catherine Nenny Baptist Church Cemetery with Kelly Reed officiating.
