Reverend Charles “Frank” Riley went to be with the Lord January 21, 2022. He was a loving and devoted husband to Joan T. Riley for 52 years. He was a loving and wonderful father to Frank “Frankie” Riley, Marshall L. Riley, and Laura T. Riley. A wonderful father-in-law to Sherry Maxey Riley. He was the son of Naomi E. Sayres Riley and Robert E. Riley (New Jersey); sisters, Nancy Walker, Ida Wheaton, and Barbara Franklin; brother, Robert Riley; half-brothers, Barney Tubman, and Wesley Tubman. He was blessed with eleven grandchildren, Emily Kennison, J.J. Kennison, Rebekkah Riley, Rachel Riley, Jeremiah Riley, Jodi Riley, Hannah Riley, Jonathan Riley, Joshua Riley, Tabbitha Riley and Joseph Riley, and one great-grandson, Issac Luster.
He worked at Clement Pappas & Company Inc. food processors in Cedarville, NJ, as a supervisor mechanic. He sang and played guitar for the gospel singing group Faith Believers. He was a preacher for almost 40 years. He started preaching at Norma Church in New Jersey and went on to preach in several churches. He was a pastor at Thompson Baptist Church in Hartford, TN. He was a very spiritual man who dedicated his life and loved the Lord. He loved reading his Bible and spreading the word of God.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Angie Shelton for the beautiful flowers and the prayer chain. The family is also thankful for everything the cancer center has done as well as Dr. Dobbs and Dr. Young.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm, Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 pm, with Reverend Dannie Bell officiating. Interment and committal services will proceed to Historic Bethesda Cemetery, after the funeral services.
