Chester Schields Mullins,78, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home in Morristown, after a brief illness. He was of the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army. He retired from Berkline after 45 years of service. Chester loved to garden and help his neighbors.
Chester is preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Myrtle Mullins; brothers, Tommy, Hubert, J.W. Doyle, and Charlie Mullins; and sister, Betty Bolden.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hilda J. Mullins; children, Angel (Byron) Arrington and Adam (McKenzie) Mullins; grandchildren, Emma, Jacob, and Bella Arrington, Paxton, and Grayson Mullins; sister, Blanche Bolden; special friends, Dave Carroll, Larry Dalton, and George Love; as well as several other nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to UT Hospice, especially nurse April, nurse Jessica, and caregivers, Hannah and Brenda.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7 PM, with Rev. Randy Brooks officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, February 21, 2025, in the Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
