E. CHRISTINE GOAN, aged 93, passed away peacefully at her assisted living center on March 24, 2020. Chris, daughter of Lee and Esther Reagan, grew up in Morristown graduating from Morristown High School in 1944 and later involving herself in numerous art classes by several well-known East TN artists. She married Jack 0. Goan just prior to his entry into the WW II U.S. Army Air Corps. Throughout her life Chris was active in the Hamblen Co. community. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 70 years singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. In the 1970s Chris wrote a column for the Daily Gazette-Mail newspaper titled, "A Pinch of Spice". She was a member of the Morristown Art Association with her works included and recognized at many area art exhibits. She and Jack were active members of the Clover Leaf Square Dance Club. Chris loved having her family together and hosted many gatherings providing wonderful meals and special memories.
Chris was preceded in death by her husband as well as her son, Jack R., and brothers, Carl and Robert Reagan. Her last living sibling, Billie R. Deck, was recently able to travel to spend time with her. Her surviving immediate family members are daughter, Carla; son & wife, Randy and Kathy; and daughter-in-law, Lynn. Chris cherished her six grandchildren and experienced great joy in the arrivals of her ten great-grandchildren. She enjoyed years-long relationships with her many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date post pandemic concerns at the Hamblen Memorial Gardens with the assistance of Allen Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Serenity House, 421 N. High St., Morristown 37814
