Cornelia "Nelly" Nagy

Cornelia “Nelly” Nagy, 94, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her home of 43 years in Whitesburg, surrounded by family.

She was born in Hungary and came to the United States after surviving the turmoil of WWII at the age of 23, to reunite with the love of her life, the late Geza Nagy. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church for over 40 years.

Along with her husband of 47 years, she was preceded in death by parents Franz and Magdalena Ritter and sister, Valeria Weinstetter.

Survivors include her children, Rita Nagy, Roland Nagy, and Dora (Dr. John) Presutti; grandchildren, Jeremiah Ball, Nicole Presutti, Rachel Presutti; and goddaughter Judi Lanier. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Thursday, September 21, 2023, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 22nd, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Adam Kane officiating. Interment will be held in Hamblen Memory Gardens following the Funeral Mass. All in attendance are invited to a luncheon at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church following the graveside services.
