Corran Purkey Obituary

Corran Ross Purkey, age 20, passed away surrounded by the love of a vast and devoted community of family and friends. Corran was a remarkable and brilliant young man whose heart was as big as his presence, and whose kindness touched everyone he encountered—both in person and across the world online.

Corran was the beloved son of Christin and Jamie Purkey, and the cherished grandson of Harry and Deborah Purkey, lovingly known as his Pop and Hunny, and Karen Lawson known to him as Granny. He was a devoted brother to Hayden, and a loving brother-in-law to Brooke. Corran adored his nieces, Seren and Rylan, who brought him immense joy and pride.

He shared an unbreakable bond with his cousin and best friend, Jesse Stump, and was deeply loved by his aunt and uncle, Amy and Andy Stump, and Jonathan Lauderdale. He is also lovingly remembered by his great-uncle and great-aunts and uncles: Jack and Judy Purkey, Ronnie and Sandra Lawson, and Danny and Mary.

Corran leaves behind a large extended family who loved him dearly, including Jason and Kasey Fox, Wendy and Danny Houseright, Claude and Jennifer Thompson, Philip and Angela Smith, Randi, Shane, and their son Caiden Collins, and his treasured Mullins Kung Fu Family—Kevin, Dustin, Aaron, Mike, Lisa, Karen, Sydney, Preston, and Ronnie, and many others—who were an important and formative part of his life. He was a member of Slate Hill Primitive Baptist church, that he attended with his Pop, with a loving extended church family too numerous to name. Corran knew God at a very young age.

Corran loved his friends, his family, and his cats, Remi and Leo, above and beyond all else. He had a heart so big that he shared it freely, offering compassion, humor, and loyalty to everyone he met. He was an avid photographer and astronomer, endlessly fascinated by the sky and the weather. He loved music and guitars, was a skilled kung fu practitioner, and had a deep appreciation for firearms and craftsmanship. Corran took pride in working with his hands at the furniture factory alongside his Pop, Hunny, and Uncle Jack, and he possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, building and contributing to several businesses at such a young age.

With an unbelievable online presence, Corran connected with countless people across the globe. He was loved by more people than could ever be named, and his impact reached far beyond what words can capture. To all who knew him—whether for a lifetime or a moment—know that Corran loved each and every one of you with all his heart and soul.

His memory will forever live on in the lives he touched, the love he gave, and the light he shared with the world.
