Darlene "Darlenie" Smith

Darlene “Darlenie” Smith, 62, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare. Those who knew “Darlenie” knew immediately that she loved everyone-she truly never met a stranger. Her kindness was genuine, her smile welcoming, and her heart open to all. She loved hugs! She loved her family deeply and took great joy in spending time coloring with her pencils and colors in her coloring books. “Darlenie” often said that Elvis Presley was “her boy” because she delighted in his gospel music. Her faith was strong, and she enjoyed attending church and being a part of her church family. “Darlenie’s” warmth and loving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Wayne Smith; sister, Cathy Teresa Marshall; stepdad, Jack Cope; sister-in-law, Debbie Smith; nephew, Derrick Helton; and great niece, Laura Beth Helton.

She is survived by her mother, Judy Cope; brother, Donald C. Smith; sisters, Donna (Philip) Sellars and Lynna (Kevin) Hixon; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Also survived by half-sisters, Angie Eddington and Grace Smith.

The family will receive friend from 5 – 7 PM, on Friday, December 26, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 PM, with Rev. Randy Brooks and Rev. Andrew Winstead officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in the Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
