David Anthony Wilder, 73, of Whitesburg, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. At the age of 18, David began a career in construction and was skilled at many traits. He worked for Vannoy Construction where he assisted in building Ingles Markets throughout the region. He also worked for Advent Electric and retired from Joseph Construction in 2008. He loved woodworking, gardening and watching TV when he had time. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus & Bertie Mae Wilder; brother, Don; sisters, June, Vada, Martha, and Billie; sisters-in-law, Wanda and Debbie; brother-in-law, Elijah, Richard, Wayne, and Hal.
He is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Kathy Wilder; daughters, Nicole Wright (Garry) Golden; granddaughter, Briana (Kaden) Mullins; grandson, Joseph Johnson; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Steve) Carpenter and Brenda (Jerry) Foshie; brothers-in-law, Randall Welch and Frank Rickett; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would especially like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice especially nurse, Sarah.
Graveside services will be held 2PM, Monday, March 2, 2026, at Historic Bethesda Cemetery, with Pastor Rodney Ricketts officiating.
