Doris O. Smith, age 87, of Bean Station went to be with the Lord and Heaven gained another soul on Friday, August 28, 2020. She was a longtime active member of Barnards Grove Baptist Church in Bean Station. She loved her Lord, her church and church family. Doris was saved at an early age at Adriel’s Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station and occasionally returned there to worship with her brothers and sisters in Christ. She also had attended and loved the church family at McBride Missionary Baptist Church in Morristown. Doris enjoyed church and community socials and was a staple at Christian events. She was a very enthusiastic member of the Bean Station Senior Citizens Center, attending nearly daily, and worked diligently to help with their Annual Golf Tournament. Doris was a member of the Tate Springs Eastern Star in Bean Station. She worked at Hayter Printing in Morristown for over 20 years, and frequently reminisced about her time and friends there. She loved spending time with her boys, grandchildren, family, friends, and her community. One of her favorite activities was cooking Sunday dinner after church for her family. When asked how she was, her favorite expression was “I’m too blessed to be depressed”.
