Douglas C. Anderson, Age 82, of Mohawk, having accepted Jesus as his Savior, was carried by Him from his home here to the Father’s House on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, after a long battle with several illnesses.
He was a devoted and loving Husband, Dad, and Papa. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Whitesburg, where he attended faithfully until his health no longer permitted. Doug dearly loved Pastor Terry Bunch, his wife Vicky, and his wonderful church family. He was known for his many skills in carpentry, masonry, antique vehicle restoration, and other fields, as well as, remembered for his love and appreciation of hard work.
He is survived by his wife of almost 36 years, Sherry Anderson; daughter, Kim Nelson, her husband, Donny, and their two children, Ava and Ayden Nelson; stepson, Stacey Everhart, his wife, Karen, and their family, Taylor Shuffler, Haydn Shuffler, and his son, Adam Shuffler; two sisters, Peggy and Carl Fillers and Sandra and Eddie Eidson; two brothers, Roger and Kathy Anderson and Haskell Anderson; sister in law, Judy Anderson; a special church daughter, Marah Jeffers and her husband, Dustin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends and neighbors too numerous to name.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Beatrice Anderson and brother, Richard Anderson.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice for their tender care in Doug’s last days with us.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM, on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home in Morristown, TN. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM, with Pastor Terry Bunch and Rev. Rick Dinkins officiating. Interment will be held at 1 PM, on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Bible Cemetery in Mohawk, where his parents and brother are laid to rest. Pallbearers will be George Anderson, Chris Anderson, Carly Fillers, David Kenner, Damon Drinnon, and Stacey Everhart.
