Earl Grover Bowlin

Reverend Earl Bowlin, 82, went to be with the Lord May 4, 2020, at his home in Whitesburg.  He was saved at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Hancock Co. at the age of 14 ½ years old, and remained a member there until his passing.  Earl served as pastor at various churches throughout East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.  He was a farmer and butcher by trade throughout his entire life.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents Dana and Luana Bowlin; sister Geraldine Smith; and brother Rev. Gene Bowlin.  

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Barbara Bowlin; sons Tim (Mary Alisa) and Teddy Bowlin; grandchildren Timothy Daniel Bowlin, Dana April Shelton, Tiffany Welborne, Taylor and Levi Bowlin; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Faye Long, Blanche Munger and Edith Long; brother Rex Bowlin; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may pay their respects Friday, May 8, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in the east chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday in Hamblen Memory Gardens, with Rev. Marty Seals and Rev. Travis Porterfield officiating.  Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
