Edna "Faye" Winstead, 87, is now living forever with Christ her King after a brief illness.
She accepted Christ as her Savior at Calvue Baptist Church. Most who knew her will remember her kind, loving spirit along with her beautiful singing voice; some of her favorites were “Child of the King,” “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem” and “I'm Trusting You, Lord.” She was a faithful member of Fairview Bible Baptist Church and loved by many.
Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Rev. Eugene Winstead; daughter, Patsy Love; grandson, Matthew Winstead; parents, Clarence and Bertha Jones; brothers, Paul Jones and Raymond Jones; and sisters, Lenora Enloe, Priscilla Harbin and Bertha "Priss" Bohanan.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Hugh) Holt, Toney (Jean) Winstead and Dawn (Gary) Poythress; grandchildren, Mark Love, Chad Love, Natasha Sartain, Sydney Poythress, Cynthia Brown, and Crystal Deering; great-grandchildren, Michaela, Marcus, MacLeod, Maggie, Kendall Love, Alyssa and Bryleigh Love, Sarah (Jeffrey) Farmer, Austin (Berenice) Deering, Byron Johnson; great-great-grandchild, Emaya Deering; brother, Don (Shirley) Jones; sister, Helen Carpenter; and son-in-law, George Love.
The family will receive friends 5 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 15 at Fairview Bible Baptist with the funeral following. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 16 at Hamblen Memory Gardens with David "Chip" Winstead and Austin Atkins officiating.
