Effie A Shelton, 93, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, peacefully at home. She was a longtime member of Cherokee Hills Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her son, Eddie Shelton; husband, William Pat Shelton; father, Doc Akins; mother, Edith Akins; brother, George Akins; and sister-in-law, Shirley Akins.
Survivors include her son, Ronald S Shelton; grandchildren, Christy (Shawn) Asbury, Tasha (Logan) Dougherty, Christopher (Kate) Shelton, Deborah (Taylor) Johnson, Bradley (Taylor) Shelton, Ronnie E Shelton; daughter-in-law, Shirley Shelton; as well as 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 1 PM Friday, April 5, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1 PM, with Rev. T.H. Ferrell officiating. Interment will be held in Hamblen Memory Gardens after the funeral services.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses of Amedisys Home Health and Hospice of Morristown for the exceptional end of life care provided.
