Eric J. Fishburn (“Rick”) was born on November 28, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee to Jay and Sally Fishburn.
He passed away at home in Morristown, Tennessee on July 15, 2023. Rick was 75.
Rick was the General Manager of Mason Machinings, Inc. for more than 25 years. During the Vietnam War, Rick served in the Army and was stationed in Texas as a military police officer.
Rick moved to Morristown in 1972 and was well known in the community for his generosity and kindness.
His deep baritone voice and quick wit were instantly memorable, and he found great joy in helping others.
Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Beverly Mason Fishburn, and four children: Conn Fishburn (Marlen) of Nashville, Tennessee, Cara Thornton (Clay) of Denver, Colorado, and Jeremy Fishburn (Diane) and Mason Fishburn (Brooke) of Morristown, Tennessee. Rick was a beloved Pappy to eight grandchildren: McKinzie, Carson, Sydney, Spencer, Masie, and Mela Fishburn of Morristown, and Hayes and Lockhart Thornton of Denver.
Rick was the second of seven children and is survived by his brother, The Honorable Mark J. Fishburn (Claudette), and sisters Mary Lynn Brennion (Bill), Carol Hartman (Matt), and Kristen Lutz (Charlie), and numerous nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his beloved sisters, Julie Wood and Stacy Fishburn.
A celebration of life service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023. The family will receive friends at All Saints beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Rick to join them in celebrating his life.
