Etta Lamons, 83, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, following a short illness. Etta was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and sibling who will be missed by her family and friends. She was a faithful member of Guthrie’s Gap Primitive Baptist Church for over 40 years. She loved each member of her church like they were her own family.
She was preceded in death by Calvin “Gene” Lamons, her husband of 47 years; Children, Vickie Ann Thacker, Melissa Bradley, and Toby Lamons; brothers, Onnie Gulley, Thomas Gulley, Charles Gulley, James Gulley, and Henry Gulley.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Morrisett, Phyllis (Jesse) Abbott, Alfred (Diane) Thacker, Star (Steve) Eslinger, Johnny (Shelly) Bradley; grandchildren, Clarissa Harris, Samatha Tweed Williams, Kevin (Melissa) Reaves, Karina Thacker, Josh (Hannah) Thacker, Chey (Cy) Darnell, Kasey (Nick) Free, Emily (Cory) Wellborn, Olivia (Caton) Odom; 19 beloved great-grandchildren; siblings, Sis Gulley, Katie Hutchinson, Dorothy Thacker, Billy (Carolyn) Gulley, Johnny (Brenda) Gulley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11AM to 1PM Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1PM, with Pastors Larry Miller and Zach Hammond officiating. A funeral procession will follow to McCullough-Tieke Cemetery after the funeral services for graveside services and interment.
