Florine Denise Hensley

Denise Hensley, age 74, of Morristown, passed away at her home Tuesday afternoon, December 3, 2024, accompanied by her family and loved ones.

Denise was born in Southeast Michigan and later moved back to Tennessee where her heart would stay forever. She loved working with flowers and interior design. She was a very conservative and creative person. She found value in things that most would consider worthless but to Denise, she always found its purpose. She loved the outdoors with a passion. She had a love for the mountains as well as the oceans coast. Denise wants her ashes scattered along the mountains’ peaks by her son and the rest spread across the oceans coast by her daughter Jodie. Denise attended Shady Grove Freewill Baptist church in Whitesburg. There she so enjoyed working with the ladies auxiliary, where they prepared and delivered meals to the less fortunate. She was always wanting to help someone out in need. Denise, in words, had many friends and never met a stranger, she was just a great person.

Denise was proceeded in death by her parents, Dwight and Floella Seaton of Graystone and brother, Ronnie Seaton of Horse Creek. 

She is survived by her two children, Scott (Buffy) Hensley of Greeneville and Jodie (Mark) Bergquist of Katy, Texas; brother, Rickey (Wanda) of Whitesburg; sister-in-law, Sandy Seaton of Horse Creek; grandchildren, Zackery (Callie) Bergquist, Coleman Bergquist, Ireland Bergquist from Texas, and Jordan (Samantha) Hensley of Greeneville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends and neighbors, Cheryl Shirk, Shanna Fawver, Will (Dee) Rogers, Cheria Johnston, and Linda Lammers; as well as, special care givers Brenda, Isabella, and Sharron, all from Morristown.

Thanks to Smokey Mountain Hospice for all the kind care that they have provided. Special thanks to RN Aaron Smith for everything.

A celebration of life service for Denise will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 2- 4PM, officiated by Donnie Myers. Friends and family are welcome.
