G. Ayers Porter, Jr., age 85, of Morristown, TN, passed away peacefully and entered eternity into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 5, 2025. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a lifelong member of the Morristown and Hamblen County community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ayers Porter, Sr. and Nina Mae Porter.
Ayers is survived by his wife of 64 years, Linda Porter; sons, Jeff (Lisa) Porter and Richard (Dawn) Porter; grandchildren, Kristy (Austin) Hawkins, Garrison Porter, Leighton (Ty) Newberry, Kerri (Austin) Malin, Christian Porter, and Colt (Joshalyn) Tolliver; great granddaughter, Kaylee Hawkins; brother, Lynn (Kay) Porter; sister, Phyllis Ehresman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
The family will honor Ayers life in a private ceremony with Rev. Jeff Porter officiating.
