Gary Van Calfee, I

Gary Van Calfee, I, 73, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 17, 2020.  He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.  He was awarded various honors and medals during his tour of duty.  He had a passion for gardening and Alabama football.  He especially loved spending time with his dog Barley.  He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Van Calfee, II; parents, Irene and Tillman Holt; sisters, Louise Secary and Gail Holt; brothers, Arnold Calfee Evans and Doyle Holt.

He is survived by his daughter, Mandi (Jeff) Caldwell; son, Josh Calfee; grandson, Christian Calfee; brothers, Carroll (Pam) Holt; Tim (Katherine) Holt; Arvin (Debra) Holt; sisters, Sheila (Larry) Aikens; Doris Lorene Dyke; special friends, Kim Jenkins and Frankie Johnson as well as several nieces and nephews.

Military graveside services are planned for 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 in Mountain Home VA National Cemetery with Reverend Ross Woody presiding.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wounded Warriors Project; 4899 Belfort Road; Suite 300; Jacksonville, FL. 32256.
