Georgia Ruth (Tharp) Gregg

Georgia Ruth (Tharp) Gregg, 98, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025.  She loved her grandchildren, gardening, and community service, especially the years she volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gregg; parents, J. E. “Pete” and Cleo Beckner Tharp; sister Mary Lynn Hurst Jarmusz; brother, Ray; brother-in-law, Ralph (Shirley) Gregg; and sister-in-law, Pauline (Gordon) McMurray.

Georgia is survived by her son, Gary (Diane) Gregg; grandson, Will Gregg; granddaughter, Julia Gregg; several nieces and one nephew; special friends, Betty Golden, Shannon Norris, Owen Davidson, and the residents and staff of Terra Bella Senior Living.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Friday, April 11, 2025, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 7pm, with Pastor Doug Silvers officiating.  Graveside services will be held at 11am, Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.

Allen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
