Gladys Maxine Singleton, 83, of Whitesburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was a member of West View Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. Maxine enjoyed writing poetry and giving copies to her friends. She loved being with family no matter where they gathered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Singleton; parents, Charles P. and Hazel Morgan Smith; sons, Randy and Jeff Singleton; daughter-in-law, Vicky Singleton; sister, Wanda Reed; brother and sister-in-law, Reverend Charles and Joy Smith; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Singleton.
Survivors include her sons, Marty Singleton and Mike Singleton; grandchildren, Travis (Kelly) Singleton, Cody (Haley) Singleton, January Singleton, and Brandy Singleton; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm with Reverend Danny Lamb and Reverend Dannie Bell officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
