Surrounded by family, Gregory Todd McGee, 60, was called to meet his Heavenly Father on Friday, April 7, 2023. He had bravely battled melanoma for 12 years.
He was saved in his early 20’s and made sure friends and acquaintances knew about Jesus and the plan of salvation. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Morristown.
Greg enjoyed metal detecting, especially for Civil War artifacts. He loved Alabama football and enjoyed many games in Tuscaloosa with his wife. He also adored his 2 dogs, Roscoe and Bentley.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Gertrude McGee; sister, Patricia Holt; brother-in-law, Bill Dominy; father and mother-in-law, John and Dorothy Hazelwood, and sister-in-law, Lisa Hazelwood.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 33 years, Judy McGee. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Ruby) McGee of Maynardville; sister, B J Dominy of Port St. John, FL; brother, Don (Bonnie) McGee of Richmond, TX; brother-in-law, Omar Holt of Hemphill, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Amy Thomas of Morristown; nephews, Billy Holt, Michael McGee, Eric and Wade Nolan, Shaun Jones and Cooper Thomas; nieces, Deana McGee and Ashton McGee.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church Morristown prior to the memorial service at 7:00 pm with Reverend Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Hamblen Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are John Fox, Alex and Michael McGee, Eddie Sutton, Michael and Cooper Thomas. Honorary pallbearers include Alan Crawford, Howard Croxdale, Randy DeBord, Jonathan Flowers, Charlie Franklin, Eric Haag, Mark Harrell, Mark Hazelwood, Scott Herron, Billy Holt, Shaun Jones, Marty Marshall, Danny Meredith, Eric Nolan, and Bill Rogers.
The family would like to thank Serenity House of Morristown, where Greg spent the final weeks of his life, for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Serenity House, 421 N. High Street, Morristown, TN 37814.
