Gregory “Gregg” Kent Reed, 60, passed away in his home on Monday, December 1, 2025. Born on June 12, 1965, Gregg lived a life defined by faith, humility, and an unwavering love for his family.
Gregg was an active member at First Baptist of Bean Station. A God-fearing man whose calm, steady presence brought comfort to everyone around him. A mountain of a man, he was gentle by nature and humble at heart. He led with kindness, patience, and a quiet strength. He had a rare ability to make everyone feel like a friend. Always willing to lend a hand in his community and his church, he supported his congregation with the same quiet commitment that he showed in every part of his life. Above all, Gregg loved his family deeply. He was a loving and loyal husband, wonderful father and doting grandfather, always present and patient.
He was a true craftsman who loved working with his hands. He had a gift for building, fixing and restoring all things. He could bring new life to cars, motorcycles, antiques, and anything that needed his care. He had an easygoing nature and genuine spirit with an ability to fix just about anything. His time spent in the garage or on the open road became some of his happiest moments.
Gregg’s life was a blessing to us all and his memory will remain a steady light in the lives of those who loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, the example he set through his humility, kindness, hard work, faith, and love will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Manis Reed and father Claude Victor Reed; brothers Steve Reed and Wayne Mabe.
He is survived by his wife Wendy Reed; children Nathan (Ruth) Reed, Justin (Holly) Reed, Eyon Harbron, Darien (Acoya) Montes and Emma Montes; Grandchildren Aspyn and Davis Reed, Kenton and Rustin Reed, Flora Montes and Ayden and Jayda Harbron; sister Linda Conner; brothers Kevin (Susie) Reed and Jeff Reed; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 3PM, First Baptist Church of Bean Station on Sunday, December 7, 2025, with Pastor Derek Drummonds officiating. Visiting hours will be from 2-3pm prior to the service.
