Gwynn Delbert Johnson

Gwynn D. Johnson, 70, of Russellville, formerly of Sneedville passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margie Johnson; daughter, Kelly Johnson Denton Lee; sisters, Janet and Darlene Johnson; brothers, Dale and R. C. Johnson.

Gwynn leaves behind his grandchildren, Devon Johnson, Taylor Denton, Amber Denton and Megan Lee; sisters, Sharon Cody and Alice Johnson; brother, Donnie Johnson along with several nieces and nephews.

Gwynn’s love for horses and the open land was evident in everything he did.  The rolling hills of his Tennessee land were not just a place of work, but a sanctuary where he could connect with the land and animals he loved.  In his later years, Gwynn found a steadfast companion in his loyal dog Buddy.  Wherever he went, Buddy was sure to follow.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Rex Satterfield and Rhonda for all their help, care and kindness for Gwynn.

To honor his wishes, there will be no formal services.  Gwynn will be laid to rest in Burke Cemetery in Sneedville, TN.
