Harlan F. Dixon, 69, of Morristown, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, April 29, 2024. He had confessed his faith in Jesus Christ in 1964. He was born on June 29, 1954, to Elmer and Catherine Forgey Dixon of Morristown.
Harlan attended high school and college and graduated from Pharmacy Tech School of Lees- McRea College in Banner Elk, NC in 1975.
He married his wife of 21 years, Susan Dixon on October 18, 2003.
Harlan loved the pharmacy world, which he dedicated 40 years of his life. He loved to help people. He worked at Sneedville Drugs, Minnis Drugs, and Bulls Gap Pharmacy until retirement.
He was an avid swimming instructor and loved to scuba dive. His other passion was photography, which he loved. He enjoyed taking pictures and working with his wife during weddings. After retirement he worked part time at Camera Castle.
Harlan is survived by his wife, Susan Stafford Dixon; sons, Nathan and Nicholas Dixon of Sneedville; his loving granddaughter, Makinley Dixon (Bam Bam); brother, Richard (Janis) Dixon; brother-in-law, Pete (Cheryl Lynn) Stafford; sister-in-law, Libby (Steve) Padgett; sister-in-law, Gail (Harry) Jue; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM – 2:30 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at First United Methodist Church of Morristown. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, with Rev. Asa Majors and Rev. Dennie Humphreys officiating. Interment will follow the memorial service in Historic Bethesda Cemetery.
