Hubert Mitchell Nichols

Hubert Nichols, age 74, of Russellville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2023.  He is the son of the late Charlie and Virgie Nichols.  

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Velma Baker, Argline Moyers, and Lois Roberts; brothers, Eckel, George, and Oscar Nichols; father and mother-in-law, Tommy Lynn and Delia Gulley Stroud; sisters-in-law, Margie Thompson; brothers-in-law, Johnny Stroud, Steve Stroud, Tim Strange, John Fay Burke, Don Duncan, Orville Moyers, Claude Roberts and Otis Murrell and Shelby Stroud.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Stroud Nichols; sisters, Shelvie Burke, Gertrude Brewer, Bobbie Nichols, Elizabeth “Liz” Fralix, Marilyn Murrell and Mollie Duncan; brothers-n-law, Ralph Brewer, and Carroll Stroud; sisters-in-law, Laurah and Sarah Nichols, Helen Strange and Lucille Stroud; nephews, Wayne (Mindy) Stroud and Allen Stroud; special friends, Betty and Fred Smelcher.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, February 10, 2023, in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:00 pm with Reverends Lonnie Knight, Greg Ellison and Troy White officiating.  Music will be provided by Tristan and Kristy Pettiecord. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Fairview Cemetery in Mohawk.  Serving as pallbearers are Hubert Brewer, Tristan Pettiecord, Fred Smelcher, Kenny Allen, Phil Hoskins, and Junior Mizer.
