Ida Faye Long, age 85, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She accepted Christ at Union Missionary Baptist Church when she was a young girl. Faye and her husband, Joe Don Long, owned and operated a couple of restaurants, Joe’s Grill on North Cumberland, and Joe’s Drive-in on East Andrew Johnson Highway. Shortly after their restaurant stint, Faye started a long and prosperous career with Shelby Williams, where she eventually retired. She is survived by her brother, Rex (Betty) Bowlin of Ohio, sisters, Blanche Munger and Edith (C.D.) Long, sister-in-laws, Barbara Bowlin, Annie Bell Bowlin. and Patsy Long Collins. Although Faye and Joe did not have any children of their own, she was a mother to many of her siblings, nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all of the nurses and caregivers from the Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice; especially Lori, as well as special caregivers, sister and brother-in-law, Edith and C.D.
